Team Elements Makes a Strong Showing at Our Second BJJ Tournament as a Team
This tournament on June 23, 2024 marked a major milestone for Team Elements as we stepped onto the competition mats together and our athletes delivered an incredible performance across the board.
Abbey made her blue-belt debut and earned a bronze medal in a highly competitive division. Her opponents brought excellent technique, but Abbey’s rock-solid defense shut down scoring attempts and kept every match tight. Her composure, smart decision-making, and ability to control the pace made for an impressive first showing at her new rank.
In the No Gi division, Dom battled his way through a large and talented bracket to bring home gold for Team Elements. With sharp strategy, confident attacks, and relentless pressure, he proved he could hold his own against a deep field of skilled competitors. His performance was a clinic in staying focused, staying patient, and striking at exactly the right moment.
Coach Quinn rounded out the day with a standout double-podium performance at blue belt level—earning bronze in No Gi and gold in the Gi. After sustaining an injury in his No Gi bracket, he showed incredible toughness and composure, stepping back onto the mats with calm confidence. His Gi matches were marked by precise technique, smooth transitions, and the kind of agility that comes from years of dedication.
We’re immensely proud of our athletes for stepping up, representing Team Elements, and bringing home medals through strategy, grit, and heart. This tournament was only our second as a team—but it’s just the beginning. Great job, Abbey, Dom, and Quinn!
