Dominic Raymond Makes History in His MMA Debut

On October 14, 2024, the cage doors closed and history opened as 18-year-old Dominic Raymond became Elements MMA’s first officially sanctioned MMA fighter, earning a first-round TKO in under 90 seconds.

Stepping into the cage at Battle in Barre 14 in Vermont, Dominic faced a seasoned 29-year-old opponent with five prior fights. While most would have crumbled under the pressure, Dom used the moment to showcase the kind of focus and composure that only comes from relentless training and belief in your team.

We’re always cautious with our fighters, especially the younger ones, but Dom’s mindset, skill level, and work ethic made this an easy call. He earned that win long before stepping into the cage.

Dom’s story is what happens when discipline, coaching, and belief align. Starting at Elements MMA at age 16, he trained under coaches Ari Deihim, Shane Zabrowski, and Alex Kempf. Through jiu-jitsu tournaments, striking drills, and a hunger to improve, he built the foundation that made this moment possible.

“My past two years at Elements have shaped my life,” Dom shared after the fight. “This win was a team effort, and I’m proud to represent the gym that gave me everything I needed to succeed.

This is the first of many wins for Dominic and a big milestone for our entire community.
