At Elements MMA, we know that wins come in all forms.
This past October, one of our own, Ed, stepped into the ring for the very first time at Scrub Scraps 6: Octoberfist in Coventry, Connecticut. He walked away with a split decision win, but more than that, he walked away with a huge personal achievement under his belt.
Ed had been training with us for over a year, sharpening his footwork, learning to trust his instincts, and building the kind of confidence that only comes from consistent effort. Facing off against a younger, aggressive opponent from KO King Boxing, the opening round was tough, but Ed didn’t fold. He adapted.
“I’ve spent a lot of time at Elements MMA the past year or so, which has led me to develop a good understanding of how to fight and defend myself. More importantly, the time I spent training has also led to me feeling more confident and driven to accomplish what I want in life.”
Coach Shane Zabrowski played a key role in the corner between rounds, helping Ed regroup and refocus. In Round 2, Ed came out with sharper movement, better counters, and a renewed mindset. By Round 3, he was in control.
Ed’s journey is the kind of story we see again and again: someone steps through our doors, unsure, and over time becomes stronger, more grounded, and more ready for whatever’s next.
We’re proud of you, Ed.
